Barbados defeated West Indies by 4-wickets taking their win tally to 2-in-2 as WI prepare for their upcoming tri-series against Australia and South Africa.
A star studded West Indies side slumped to their second defeat in a row to Bardados in a practice match. WI are currently playing against the Barbados Select side in a bid to prepare for their upcoming One-Day Internation (ODI) tri-series involving Australia and South Africa. This is the West Indies team second defeat in as many games to Barbados. West Indies is skipped by Denesh Ramdin and have flurry of stars from the ICC W20 winning side which included Marlon Samuels, Johnson Charles, Andre Fletcher and Sulieman Benn. West Indies team also features Darren Bravo, who missed out on the T20 World Cup bus, along with Jonathan Carter, Ashley Nurse and Shannon Gabriel. Barbados select chased down the total with complete ease in just 42.5 overs with 5 wickets down. Barbados is captained by Omar Phillips also feature players who have represented West Indies at international level in Shia Hope and Jerome Warrican. For Barbados A Jones made 49 runs while Hope added 48 runs to the total score. In bowling Kristopher Ramsaran picked up three wickets for 43 runs with Gabriel and Nurse getting wicket apiece.
West Indies had also suffered a loss in against the same opponent 3-days back, asked to chase 291, as Barbados batting first made 290 in 50 overs. In reply WI could only manage 240 in 47.1 with Rovman Powell scoring 58 runs, with Ashley Nurse supporting him with a half-century of his own. Nurse also started with the ball picking up 3 wickets in his 10 over going just over6.00 runs per over in the process.
