Former Australia batsman, Adam Voges has extended his deal with Big Bash League (BBL) franchise, Perth Scorchers. Voges will now be seen playing for them in the 2017-18 edition as well. Voges led Scorchers to their third BBL title last year beating Sydney Sixers by 9 wickets.

Upon re-signing with Scorchers, Voges said, “The opportunity to come back and play in front of big crowds again made it a pretty easy decision to re-sign. The success we’ve had over the entire Big Bash has been exciting and lifting the BBL trophy last year was a highlight of our entire season.”

Voges, who has lead Scorchers to two BBL trophies, further added, “One of our big advantages has been the depth of our squad and I’ve got no doubt it’ll be very similar this year. We’ve got a big challenge in front of us – there’s seven other very good teams trying to knock us off. We understand that we can’t become complacent this season, but I’ve got no doubt that we’ve got a squad that’s capable of having another successful season.”

Voges retired from international cricket in 2016, with an astounding average of 61.87 playing 20 Tests for Australia.
