“TNCA would like to thank BCCI for allowing the same and appreciates the support that the India Cements TN Premier League has received from multiple state associations from around the country,” the statement added.

TNPL kicked off from August 24. Aparajith lit up the tournament in the second match scoring the first ever century in the TNPL, when he guided his side VB Thiruvallur Veerans to a five-wicket win over Karaikudi Kaalai at Dindigal. TNPL is only the second state based T20 tournament after the Karnataka Premier League (KPL). Many from the KPL have gone on to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the same will be expected from the players, playing in the TNPL. Many former international cricketers like Lance Klusner and Robin Singh have been appointed as coaches of various franchises in the tournament.
