The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) nominated Rohit Sharma for the Arjuna award of 2015. Rohit had an excellent last year for India in international cricket and if he finally gets the award it will be rightly deserved. The decision was taken in the BCCI working committee meeting on Sunday at Kolkata.

The board has also expressed its desire to consult the legendary trio of Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly on all cricket related matters, including the selection of the national coach reported NDTV. Both Ganguly, Dravid were talked about as being the successor to Duncan Fletcher but nothing substantial has come out of it. Now that they have been wished to appoint them along with Tendulkar as cricket advisors, it remains to be seen who is given the reigns of Indian Cricket.

Other Indian names being considered include Ravi Shastri who is presently India’s team director, Sanjay Bangar, Bharat Arun and R Sridhar. The possibility of BCCI appointing another overseas coach can’t be written off and Stephen Fleming and Michael Hussey are on the radar to take up the position. India coach will be main topic of discussion at BCCI Working Committee meeting on Sunday

The other matters discussed in the meeting were the low evaluation of the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) owned by N Srinivasan. BCCI though want more legal opinions on that matter before deciding on it.  Read: Chennai Super Kings valued at Rs 5 lakhs? The minimum salary for their players is Rs 10 lakhs!
