Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have their eyes set on the limited-overs leg of India’s tour of Sri Lanka. As per reports, BCCI is set to choose India’s squad for the upcoming five ODIs on Sunday. India play Sri Lanka in a 5-ODI series that will be followed by a one-off T20I on Septembe 6. Chief of selection committee MSK Prasad is already in Sri Lanka and will get in touch with Devang Gandhi and Sarandeep Singh, via Skype, as the duo are currently in South Africa with the ‘A’ team. BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choundary will also join Prasad in Kandy shortly.

On the eve of the third-Test, Virat Kohli made it clear that he will not be missing the ODI series after rumours of him going home after Tests were doing the rounds. ”Who said I am not playing? I don’t know where this came from, but I have no problems in playing. We (team management and selectors) are going to sit down on selection soon and we certainly have plans in mind and combinations that we want to speak about. So as captain, I am definitely in the thick of things and knowing what to speak to the committee about,” he said.

It was also been reported that Mohammed Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will be given a rest owing to India’s packed calendar. On the other hand, ODI specialists, MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Kedar Jadhav were seen at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore giving fitness test and preparing for series versus Sri Lanka.
