Secretary of the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) Gokaraju Gangaraju expressed hope that Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will soon allow Test matches at the ACA-VDCA stadium at Photinamallayyapalem at the city outskirts. He was talking to reporters about ACA’s diamond jubilee celebrations to be held here on August 9 and 10.
ACA had approached the BCCI for permission to hold Test matches, he said, adding that cricket board officials subsequently visited the Andhra Cricket Association and Vizag District Cricket Association stadium and suggested some minor changes, which would be effected by this month-end. BCCI may sanction Test matches at the stadium next month, he added. Already, the stadium has hosted One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and T20 international (T20I) matches.
