BCCI’s official website still lists MS Dhoni as Indian captain

MS Dhoni retired from Test cricket in the middle of the Test series during the tour of Australia in 2014, thus relinquishing his captaincy. It’s a known fact; but try telling that to folks at bcci.tv, who still have Dhoni listed as the captain of the Indian team.

Yes, after his Test retirement Dhoni did continue to lead the side in the limited-over formats, but that was till 2017 only. Then again, we ought to give the benefit of the doubt to bcct.tv, as we all know that till the time MSD takes to the field for India, he may as well be regarded as the ‘unofficial’ captain.

However, this doesn’t mean that the official website of the BCCI has left out Virat Kohli, the current Indian skipper in all formats. Kohli is rightly listed as the captain of the Indian team.

This goof up, albeit a silly one, sure is going to be the fodder for the socialverse for the day!
