Ben Stokes has been cleared of the charges and is ready to play for England, reports suggest. Stokes was suspended after a violent confrontation with a unanimous outside a pub and had been charged with affray recently. Stokes not only missed The Ashes as a result but his participation in IPL was also uncertain due to the condition. Now, the court has declared that he can play for England and is likely to join the team as they face New Zealand and Australia in T20I tri-series.

“The CPS was passed a file of evidence by Avon and Somerset Police on 29 November in relation to an incident of disorder in Bristol city centre. Further material was subsequently received in late December. Following a review of all the available evidence, the CPS has today authorised the police to charge three men with affray in connection with the incident. Ben Stokes, 26, Ryan Ali, 28, and Ryan Hale, 26, are all due to appear before Bristol Magistrates’ Court on a date to be fixed in relation to this charge,” England’s Crown Prosecution Service had earlier said in statement.

With the IPL auction taking place on January 27 and 28, the decision will make things clear for the franchise owners who have been interested in the all-rounder. Stokes’ impressive run in 2017 IPL took his former side, Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) to the final of the tournament. He was also the highest-paid player.
