Bhuvneshwar Kumar put in a sterling all-round show in the first Test between India and England. He scored two fifties in the game batting at No 9 and also recorded a five wicket haul, which is a first for Test cricket. This has put Bhuvneshwar’s name in the record books as he has well and truly done something unique.
- Bhuvneshwar became the second man to record two half-centuries at No 9 in a Test match. He scored 58 in the first innings and an unbeaten 63 in the second. The only other man who did this was Peter Siddle, who achieved the feat last year against India at Delhi.
- Bhuvneshwar also became the first man to bat at No 9 or lower to score two fifties in the game and then also take five wickets. Bhuvneshwar recorded figures of five for 82 in England’s only innings of the game
