In a last minute change, the name of controversial Ajit Chandila has been dropped from the list of contestants of Bigg Boss 8. Chandila’s name was involved in the in-famous spot fixing scandal that rocked Indian Premier League (IPL), Season six. The off-spinner was arrested on May 16, 2013 by Delhi Police, on charges of spot-fixing during IPL six along with S Sreesanth and Ankeet Chavan.
It is alleged that Chandila received Rs. 4.9 million from bookies in the 2013 IPL season, of which Rs. 1.5 million was paid to him to spot-fix in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 17 May 2013 before which he was arrested. After being arrested, he was immediately suspended by his employer, Air India. Sources revealed that his place would be taken by actress Sonali Raut, reported daily.bhaskar.com.
