Basking in the glory of an ODI hat-trick, Kuldeep Yadav is yet to earn praises from legend Bishan Singh Bedi. Speaking at an event, Bedi talked about the current Indian team and why he criticizes IPL, and much more. Bedi still believes that Virat Kohli’s side is yet to flourish in overseas conditions. According to a report published in cricketnext, Bedi said, “This team hasn’t been challenged yet, the team knows that the real test will come when they tour abroad next year and they are preparing for it.”

When asked about the young leggie, Bedi explained, “I would like to see him bowl 35-40 overs in a day. He is bubbling with energy and looks confident but he will have to face the bad days when things will go against him, at that time you guys (media) will also go after him.” Bedi, though, did not waste time in praising Ravichandran Ashwin. “The selectors haven’t totally ruled him out. There are still many spots up for grabs in team, I won’t say which as that is something you will have to ask the selectors,” Bedi opined.

He further added, “Whatever conditions you play, the bowler has to be consistent. We hear commentators use this term ‘bowled in right areas’. My question is what exactly is right area? Sometimes bowlers get wickets bowling long hops and full tosses. Are those right areas? Right areas exist in between your ears, where you prepare strategy!”

Talking about Australians, he explained, “You can say that. Every team is happy to play at home. Even Australia would be waiting for India to come there (in 2018). Today teams are happier playing at home is a logical statement.”

Bedi rounded off the conversation criticising the IPL. “You’re giving me three players, I can give you a list of 35 who have failed to perform at the international level,“ Bedi concluded.
