What a match we have had here! Who would have said that the Titans would be able to defend 123! But superb bowling by de Lange (three for 13) and Richards (two for 20) got their team a nervy win and valuable points.
James Hopes, the captain of the wobbly ship, finally falls as he holes out to long-off for 37 off 44 balls to give van der Merwe his first wicket. Chris Hartley is the new batsman at No 7. However, the settled Chris Lynn also falls soon after as the pressure gets to him and he smacks a full toss from Wiese straight to deep extra-cover.
Chris Sabburg then gets two back-to-back boundaries to get the equation down to 20 from the last two. However, Morne Morkel comes into the attack and cleans up Hartley to make it 104 for seven. Morkel bowls a superb over until the last ball which Sabburg whacks a six straight over mid-wicket to make it 10 to win from the last over.
More drama follows as Sabburg and are run out one after the other in the final over. WIth five to win off the last ball, de Lange produces the perfect yorker and castles McDermott to give his team a four-run victory.
Brisbane continue to amble along at a run-rate just under six an over. However, in the 14th over, Christian tries to whack Rowan Richards over long-on, but completely misses the ball which goes on to shatter his stumps.
BRI 52/3 | Overs 10 | Hopes 28*, Christian 13*
Brisbane Heat have managed to not lose any more wickets between overs 5 and 10, but their run-rate is quite low. Just 26 runs have come in the last five overs. The required rate is now 7.20, still manageable.
Joe Burns falls for a duck in Brisbane’s chase as he skies Rowan Richards and is pouched easily by Marchant de Lange. Peter Forrest and Ben Cutting then fall in the same over bowled by Marchant de Lange, both falling to shots that were just not on. Totally unnecessary given the situation.
It’s a total collapse here as the Titans slipped from 70 for one at a stage to 123 all-out. Henry Davids’s wicket is what sparked the fall of the dominos. Join us in a bit for the chase, which should be an easy one for the Heat.
David Wiese pulls Dan Christian flat and towards the boundary but unfortunately a fielder is stationed there to take the catch. Mangaliso Mosehle then skies the bowler and is out as well. The wickets continue to tumble as Behardien, Morne Morkel and Rowan Richards fall in quick succession.
Henry Davids tries to sneak in a quick run after an attempted sweep goes awry. However, he falls short of his ground and has to walk back — totally unnecessary wicket to lose. Ab de Villiers then helps the Titans take 13 overs from Cutting, via two boundaries, before Roelof van der Merwe holes out to deep extra cover. Another needless, and comical, run-out follows in the 15th over as de Villiers flicks the ball to short fine-leg and is undecided whether to run or not. His partner Farhaan Behardien wants the run and scampers through, with de Villiers still grounded. He has to walk back as the bails are whipped off at the non-strikers’ end.
Titans finally decide to take the attack to Brisbane as Alister McDermott is hit for 16 in his first over. However, McDermott Jr returns to bowl a good second over, conceding just six runs. Ben Cutting comes into the attack for the 10th over and immediately gets the wicket of Heino Kuhn, who departs after scoring 31 off 27 balls. He was sent as the pinch hitter, ahead of AB de Villiers. He would have liked to have scored at a higher rate.
Matthew Gale picks up a wicket in his first over, getting Jacques Rudolph to cut it straight to cover where Chris Sabburg accepts it. Henry Davids and Heino Kuhn then edgily progress along to the fifth over unscathed.

3.40pm IST: Rain continues to thwart the Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) 2013. After both of Monday’s matches at Ahmedabad were washed out without a single ball being bowled, the rain has followed the cricket to Mohali where it is raining lightly.
The start of the match has been delayed by at least 45 minutes. Daljit Singh, the curator, said that he needs 45 minutes to get ground ready after the rain stops. The toss will happen 15 minutes before the start of the game.
