The Indian cricket board released this news in a press release saying, “The BCCI Medical Team confirms that Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh who is presently down with viral fever is making steady progress. There are no major health concerns and he is recuperating well, to the satisfaction of the medical team. He is advised rest and will miss India’s first warm-up match against New Zealand at The Oval on May 28, 2017. The medical team will continue to monitor Yuvraj Singh’s progress and hope for a speedy recovery.”
Yuvraj made a comeback into the national side after a long gap in India’s home series versus England in early 2017. He registered his highest ODI score 150 in the second ODI, and helped the side in conquering the series 2-1. The conditions in England will test Yuvraj, but he has a knack of stepping up in major ICC events.
