The social media websites on Sunday were flooded with congratulatory messages for the explosive West Indies batsman Chris Gayle, who is all set to play in his 100th Test when the Caribbean side takes on New Zealand in the opening match at Kingston, Jamaica.
West Indies’ former captain Darren Sammy, cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle and England’s star batsman Kevin Pietersen, also a good friend of Gayle conveyed their wishes. Gayle would be the ninth cricketer from the West Indies to play 100 Tests or more, joining the likes of Brian Lara, Gordon Greenidge, Carl Hooper, Courtney Walsh, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Sir Viv Richards, Desmond Haynes and Clive Lloyd.
A special day in the life of one of my best buddies, @henrygayle…Enjoy the day and welcome to the 100 Test Cap Club!
