One of the stars for Trinabago Knight Riders (TKR) in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2017, Brendon McCullum has been ruled out due to fractured arm. During a contest against Barbados, Wayne Parnell’s delivery hit McCullum. Later, an X-ray confirmed that the New Zealand sustained a fracture. McCullum, batting on 29, instantly retired-hurt ,and was taken to the hospital then and there.

McCullum has amassed 335 runs in 10 matches at an average of 55.83. Even though his side went on to lose by 16 runs, Trinabago are on top of the CPL points table and have qualified for the playoffs.

He took to Twitter to reveal his injury status.

This was McCullum’s second stint with the Knight Riders franchise. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had picked him up in the inaugural season of Indian Premier League (IPL).  McCullum had lit up opening game of the IPL against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), hitting a 73-ball 158*. He was also appointed captain in the third season before leaving for Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
