After getting off to a solid start, the Perth Sorchers seem set for a competitive total against the Sydney Sixers at the end of their innings, with the score on 100 for the loss of two wickets at the end of the 13th over.

Sixers captain, Marcus North won the toss and put the Scorchers in to bat first. Scorchers captain, Simon Katich opened the batting alongside Craig Simmons. Both the openers started off cautiously, raking in just 12 off the first three overs. Then Katich took the charge and scored 19 off the fourth over (against Mitchell Starc). But soon lost his wicket to Josh Hazlewood.

Simmons occupied the other end, as No 3 Whiteman too didn’t last long in the middle. But the burly Simmons, along with Adam Voges have upped the scoring rate significantly in the last few overs, with Simmons hitting a few into the crowds.

Perth Scorchers, with eight wickets in their hand, look set for a 150plus score at the SCG.
