The game of cricket is taking giant steps in Ireland after their brilliant showing at the international level. They are currently ranked No. 10 in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) rankings. In limited overs form, they are slowly becoming a force to recon with. Currently the Irish team is seeking a main sponsor.
In their official website Cricket Ireland has written, “The sport continues to grow across all of Ireland, participation numbers are approaching 50,000, social media followers are close to 400 thousand and attendees of up to 10,000 have attended recent high profile international matches in Ireland. The profile of the Irish cricket team has increased significantly both at home and abroad. The performance on the World Cup stage in recent years has increased the global footprint of Irish cricket including in cricketing territories such as India, Australia, South Africa and the UK. In India alone, where Ireland will compete in the ICC World T20 next March, Irish cricket has become the common denominator between the two countries with the Irish team’s popularity now well ahead of U2 on the streets of Mumbai and Bangalore.”
“Cricket Ireland are seeking a new main sponsor and are looking to engage with brands who would like to find out more about one of the fastest growing sports in Ireland and whose profile continues to increase on the global stage through their performances and increased broadcast coverage. There are also opportunities to partner with Cricket Ireland as a category sponsor and across a number of grassroots and domestic initiatives including the National Schools Programme which is now up and running in schools across all of Ireland.”
