Pakistan cricket legend Waqar Younis was the guest of honor for Islamic Relief event organised at Bradford on Saturday. This event organised at Aagrah Midpoint restaurant aimed to raise money for the people of that war-torn city in Syria. During this event, Waqar spoke of many cricketing topics and one thing he openly mentioned was on South Africa fats bowler Dale Steyn, who has been out of cricket for a while due to his injury. After the recent 5-for by Anderson, Waqar was all praises for the Englishman as well. Waqar mentioned, “Dale Steyn is currently the best fast bowler in the world. But in English conditions it’s James Anderson.” ALSO READ: IPL 2016: Mohammad Kaif takes a dig at Dale Steyn

Waqar also revealed who were his prized possession when it came to grabbing wickets and with no second thoughts he said it was Brian Lara followed by Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly. On the recent match of Pakistan against England, Waqar believes Misbah-ul-Haq, Yasir Shar and Mohammed Aamer can bring in lot of difference to the side if the team has faith on these experienced players. Interestingly, Waqar cheekily took a dig on former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram saying, When Wasim Akram was captain he dropped me a few times. But when I was captain I never dropped him. In the recently concluded GOAT contest, Waqar came in support of Akram and said he was a better bowler than him as they were pitted against each other in this contest and Waqar emerged as winner. But this comment made in the event seem to say a different story altogether. Waqar has resigned as captain of the national side after Pakistan’s failure in Asia Cup T20 2016 and ICC World T20 2016 respectively.
