South Africa‘s pace spearhead, and the No 2 bowler in the world, Dale Steyn has now equalled Dennis Lillee and Chaminda Vaas in terms of Test wickets taken, and has reached the 19th spot in the all-time list with 355 wickets.

Steyn took the wicket of Chris Rogers in his first over of the second innings in the ongoing first Test between South Africa and Australia to reach this milestone.

Steyn has played 70 Tests to reach the landmark, which is same as Lillee, but 41 Tests less than Vaas. Steyn, at this stage of career, in fact boasts of a better average than the legendary Lillee. While Steyn stands at 22.81, Lillee lagged just behind at 23.92.

Steyn is also the third in the list of highest wicket takers in Tests for South Africa, after Shaun Pollock (421) and Makhaya Ntini (390).
