Sri Lanka have been rocked by Dale Steyn’s twin strikes early on Day One of the second Test against South Africa. Sri Lanka had won the toss and elected to bat on a good track at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC), Colombo. But, Steyn strucl early to dismiss Upul Tharanga and Kumar Sangakkara off consecutive deliveries.
Tharanga fell in the fifth over when Steyn bowled a short ball that surprised him for pace. Tharanga tried to get out of the way, but only managed to fend it away and got the edge through to the wicketkeeper. Sangakkara was dismissed when he tried to pull a short one from Steyn first ball and was caught at square-leg. Sri Lanka now have Mahela Jayawardene and Kaushal Silva in the middle.
