The Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) has named its Under-16 tournament after former India opening batsman Vijay Mehra.

Mehra, who played Test cricket in the 1950s-60s, was the youngest Indian player to make his Test debut at 17 years 265 days for close to three decades before another Delhi player Maninder Singh broke it in 1982-83 series.

Mehra, the longest serving national selector from North Zone, passed away Aug 25, 2006.
