Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were in firm control over the run-chase against Delhi Daredevils (DD) in the second match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 match, with Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli looking in a murderous mood out there in the middle.
In what could have been a decisive wicket, New Zealand rookie Jimmy Neesham spilled a simple catch and Mayank Agarwal missed another simple chance of Virat Kohli. Dropping a world-class batsmen like Kohli was going to come back and bite the opponents and the Indian vice-captain was on the charge straight away. Neesham was smashed for a six over cover point and Yuvraj’s comeback to form was stamped with a hook over fine leg for another six.
The most expensive over of the innings came in the 15th over of Rahul Sharma with Kohli smashing two irresistible strikes over the boundary and Yuvraj added a third with an almost effortless six.
Earlier, Bangalore captain Kohli won the toss and decided to send Delhi Daredevils in to bat. After some inspired bowling from Bangalore in the early overs, which restricted Delhi to 37 for four, Ross Taylor and JP Duminy put on an inspired batting display to take Delhi to 145 for four.
