Delhi gang rape: Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh express grief over victim's demise

Indian cricketers Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh expressed their grief over the demise of the Delhi gang rape victim, who passed away in a Singapore hospital on Saturday.

“Heartbreaking to hear about damini ! Rip braveheart of india !,” wrote Yuvraj Singh on Twitter. (sic)

Virat Kohli wrote, “rest in peace damini. worst thing to have happened i still cannot believe it.” (sic)

Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh expressed, “If dey can send Victim to Singapore fr better Treatment. I suggest dey shd send Accused to saudi arabia for better Justice! Paste and spread.” (sic)

“Sad to hear the demise of d brave girl of Delhi. May her soul rest in peace and justice be given to her ASAP. Enough talking, time to act,” wrote Unmukt Chand. (sic)

Suresh Raina said, “She may have lost her life. But we will not let her lose her fight. I am angry as a son, as a brother. #Fight for Justice.”

Ajinkya Rahane wrote, “extremely disturbed to hear the 23 year lost her battle, RIP #fighter, India remembers you.” (sic)

Aakash Chopra said, “She’s closed her eyes forever :( but not before waking up this entire nation from a very deep slumber. You were a brave heart…our honour!!. Why did we know that she’ll die in Singapore?? Why did we know that the news will come in the middle of the night?? Shame on GOI. Cowards!!!”

He added, “We are always told to ‘forgive and forget’ But I sincerely hope that this time we ‘remember and act’. #stopthisshame”

Commentator Harsha Bhogle expressed, “i had said some years ago that india will take off when her women are empowered. they are the tougher sex. is that why they are subjugated?” (sic)

Ishant Sharma also shared his thoughts on the social networking site, “You left us. But your soul will always be there inside every heart. God plz tc of her. #Damini #BraveheartGirl RIP” (sic)

“Strict Punishment 4 Rapists,their death shud not B so easy.Make thm feel D pain of tht Girl,so tht it should not repeat again ever in future. If dey can send Victim to Singapore fr better Treatment.
