In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014, Delhi Daredevils were 85 for four in the 30th match of the tournament against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). After losing Murali Vijay in the ninth over, the onus was on Dinesh Karthik to steady the innings. Shakib al Hasan bowled the 11th over of the match and it was a tidy over from the former Bangladesh off spinner, which yielded just five runs of the over.
Jacques Kallis’s bowled the next over and some superb improvisation from Karthik saw a breathtaking six over fine leg. The Tamil Nadu captain followed that which a flick of the hips that went to a boundary and then caressed the ball to the backward point boundary. Shakib got the breakthrough though after a top edge landed safely in Kallis’s safe hands a superb cameo came to an end.
