“He [Lehmann] likes my aggression,” Bollinger said, as reported by Sydney Morning Herald.
“He’s been around a bit and he’s a pretty honest bloke. It’s good to get bits and pieces of info from him … heseems like a straight shooter, everyone says he is,” he added.
The left-arm pacer had fallen down the pecking order since the Ashes 2010-11. However, with a host of the current crop of bowlers like James Pattinson, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc struggling with injuries, Bollinger’s chances of a comeback are bright.
Talking about his chances, he says, “Why not? I’m not as young as some of the young guys coming through, but I’ve got a lot of bowling and years under my belt … I’m not dead yet.”
Bollinger took heart from Ryan Harris’s performance in the Ashes 2013 and said, “Everyone thought Ryan Harris was gone, but look at him.”
”All the coaches around are happy to see what I’m doing, what I’m doing around the team and how I’m approaching things,” he said.
”That’s more important, how I’m approaching my cricket, how I’m getting through it and how I’m helping out the other guys. There’s a few blokes injured, if I get the opportunity it’d be great.”
