England announce T20 squad for one-off match against Pakistan

All-rounder Ben Stokes is also set to play his first international T20 match since his traumatic experience in the World Cup final earlier this year after being named in the squad for the match against Pakistan.

England have announced their squad for the one-off Twenty20 (T20) against Pakistan on September 7, 2016.  Eoin Morgan‘s team have thrashed Pakistan in the One-Day Internationals (ODIs) after winning the first three matches handsomely. England won the first ODI by 44 runs (D/L method), got the better of Pakistan by four wickets in the next game whereas they sealed the series winning the third match by 169 runs at Edgbaston. England also scored their and ODI cricket’s highest runs in 50-overs by scoring 444 for 3 in 3rd ODI. They will also like to win the T20 series wherein they have performed well by winning the one-off against Sri Lanka in July 2016 and ending second best in the ICC World Twenty20 (T20) 2016. All-rounder Ben Stokes is also set to play his first international T20 match since his traumatic experience in the World Cup final earlier this year after being named in the squad for the match against Pakistan. The 25-year-old has not played T20 international cricket since the West Indies’ Carlos Brathwaite smashed him for four successive sixes in the final over of April’s World Cup final to seal an unlikely victory for the West Indians. Stokes is joined for the game at Old Trafford by Durham county team-mate Mark Wood in a squad that includes nine of the team which beat Sri Lanka in their previous T20 match in July. Sam Billings, Chris Jordan and Tymal Mills are the other names who will join the ODI team, as reported by AFP.
