The sting operation carried out by Al-Jazeera is causing turmoil in the world of cricket. In a new development, anti-corruption detectives are gearing to to quiz England players following their role in the match fixing allegations. In the documentary is being said that the 2016 Chennai Test between India and England was compromised by few English players.

According to a report in Indian Express, players whose names have been beeped out in the documentary will be questioned by authorities. The English and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have denied all such claims. Test skipper Joe Root coined these allegation as ridiculous. Coach Trevor Bayliss also reacted strongly and called it outrageous.
Root said: “We have been made aware that there is a documentary going out, and all the players have been briefed by the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) and been told that there is absolutely nothing to worry about. I have been told to strongly deny these allegations. It sounds quite ridiculous really. It’s for the ICC to sort out – they’re the people in charge – and if there’s anything to it, they’ll look into it.”
