Simon Kerrigan, the left-arm spinner, has been added to England‘s squad for the second Test against India at Lord’s. During the first Test at Nottingham, England lacked the specialist spinning options. Moeen Ali took three wickets in the second innings with his off-spin, but England he is in the squad primarily as a batsman.

During the post match presentation, Alastair Cook confirmed the development in conversation with Michael Atherton. Kerrigan comes into the squad after months away from the team. he had made his Test debut during the fifth game of the Ashes 2013 last year, where he was taken apart for runs. In eight overs, he had gone for 53 runs.
