MS Dhoni achieved another landmark when he completed 10,000 ODI runs during the second match between India and England at Lord’s, London. Dhoni became the fourth Indian to reach this milestone, after Sachin Tendulkar (18,426), Sourav Ganguly (11,363) and Rahul Dravid (10,889). Overall he became the 12th player to do so and only the second wicket-keeper. Dhoni had made his debut in 2004-05. This is his 319th international match. He has so far recorded 10 centuries and 67 half-centuries.

Dhoni was only 33 runs short of the 10,000 run mark before the match. He came to bat at No 6 after the wicket of Suresh Raina when India were 154 for 5 chasing 322. He got off to a slow start with the run rate climbing up and changing partners at the other end. Dhoni even completed 300 ODI catches in the match. He needs to play a special knock if he has to take India to victory from here.
