Pakistan seemed to have no clue against the home side England. They were outclassed in each and every aspect of the game by them. England whitewash the ODI series by 3-0 where they won the last two ODIs with a 200 run plus margin. Pakistan were put to chase 367 by England, thanks to Tammy Beaumont’s 168. Pakistan lost wickets early on and never looked in the hunt of the target as they did not get anywhere near the required run rate. It kept mounting as Pakistan batters struggled to find gaps and boundaries on a regular basis and wickets kept falling from both ends. Bismah Maroof and Sidra Nawaz shared a partnership of 74 runs after which Pakistan tried to play out the 50 overs but failed miserably as Katherine Brunt picked up five wickets and mopping up the tail quickly. Earlier England Women once again post a humongous total on the board in the 3rd ODI at Taunton. They were able to post a total of 366 for the loss of four wickets, thanks to the brutal onslaught by opener Tammy Beaumont who scored her career best 168 runs. England started their innnigs cautiously as they scored at less than a run rate of 5 runs per over. Openers Beaumont and Lauren Winfield (43) shared a 59 run stand for the first wicket while keeping their wickets intact early on in the innings. Sana Mir got the wicket of Winfield when she was looking dangerous. Beaumont was settling herself in as she did not go after the bowlers just yet.
England opener Winfield tried to shift gears but her stay at the crease was short-lived as Mir picked up her wicket. The flow of runs slowed down after her wicket. Beaumont and Georgia Elwiss. They tried to bring the innings back on track. Both of them reached their half centuries in the same over. They shared a 176 run stand for the second as Elwiss (77) went back to the pavilion trying to score at a rapid rate. By that time Beaumont started to attack.
Natalie Sciver joined her in the middle and looked in good touch from the very first ball. In the meanwhile Beaumont launched an onslaught on Pakistan bowlers thrashing them. Soon, she reached her century and then 150. Sciver got out for 48 trying to score more runs towards the end. Danielle Wyatt went back cheaply scoring just one run. Heather Knight came in and scored 12 runs in just five balls.
Beaumont scored 168 runs in England’s innings making her the fourth highest scorer in an ODI innings. England’s score is the 9th highest score in the history of ODIs.
