2017 has seen spike in Women’s cricket gain adulation from fans worldwide. The success of ICC Women’s World Cup in 2017 in England is for all to witness. Owning to this, Wisden has awarded Stu Forster’s photo of England Women’s post match celebration as photo of the year. England went on to beat India in a close final at Lord’s.

The England’s Kathryn Brunt can be seen taking a selfie of her teammates celebrating with the World Cup trophy. Forster was also named as one of the runners up. He pictured New Zealand’s Women bowler Hannah Rowe in her follow-through during a World Cup match.

Other runner-up was Surrey’s Sam Curran being bowled during T20 Natwest Blast match against Essex. The image was taken by David Rowe. A total of 650 entries were scanned through from all across the globe.
