South Africa middle order batsman Faf du Plessis completed his half century on Tuesday against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo. This was second half century on a trot. He scored a useful 59 from 77 balls in the first One-Day International (ODI) providing good support to Hashim Amla who went on to score a brilliant century.

In this match Du Plessis has been watchful right from the beginning. He came in at a point when the Proteas had already lost a couple of wickets in a span of 2 overs. He along with JP Duminy managed to steady the ship and tried building a partnership but Duminy was cleaned up by Prosper Utseya.
