South Africa batsman Faf du Plessis said that the recent One-Day International (ODI) victory over Australia, was not revenge for the Test loss suffered earlier this year. The South African batsman added that the team was focussed on winning the World Cup, and were moving in the right direction.

“There’s no doubt we’ve got what it takes. We’ve got the World Cup in the back of our minds and we’re heading in the right direction.”, he was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.

“Australia was the better team [in the Tests] so therefore they had more to say and more vocal because they had the upper hand most of the time. But one-day cricket it’s pretty hard to have vocals when you have a partnership like we had today,”, he added.

South Africa chased down a mammoth target of 328, thanks to centuries by Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers.
