England have taken the lead after lunch on Day Two of the fifth Test against India at The Oval. At lunch, England were level at 148 with India and then Gary Ballance helped England get the lead with a flick for a four. He has also got to his half century and continues his great run in Test cricket.
Ballance has picked a few easy boundaries off Bhuvneshwar Kumar since lunch and the one that stood out was the upper cut that helped him get to his half-century. It has been yet another sound innings and one that Ballance will savour. He is proving that he is one of the youngsters to watch out for.
Varun Aaron took the only wicket on the day when he had bowled Sam Robson early for 37. Since then, Ballance and Alastair Cook have put up more than 100. Cook is also past his half century.
