Gautam Gambhir looked in fine touch as the captain of Delhi as he hammered his 36th Indian T20 league fifty. He has now equalled David Warner’s record for most Indian T20 league fifties. Gambhir had started his career with Delhi as captain of the side for the first three seasons. Although Delhi could not win any title under Gambhir, the skipper held decent record in terms of the win percentage (57.89).

After leaving Delhi, he went on to become a notable leader for Kolkata. He led them to two IPL titles. During his stint with Kolkata, Gambhir scored 27 Indian T20 league fifties. This year, Gambhir was bought by Delhi for INR 2.8 crores.

Delhi is one of three teams who have not won an India T20 league title yet. Delhi suffered a setback after Gambhir was dismissed for 55, courtesy a direct throw by young Mujeeb Zadran. However, Chris Morris and Dan Christian changed the course of the game for the side.
