The voices India’s head coach Duncan Fletcher is rising by the day. Former England captain Geoffrey Boycott has said that he can’t understand why Fletcher hasn’t been sacked yet.

“I can’t understand why Fletcher has not been sacked yet. Why is India persisting with him? He is supposed to be the batting expert and India fared miserably in batting. A player like Virat Kohli failed in 10 innings. What did Fletcher do? I am really surprised that he is still around,” Boycott was quoted as saying by Mid Day. He was also at seeing only bowling coach, Joe Dawes and fielding coach, Trevor Penney instructed to go on leave and expected Fletcher to be on that list too.

Meanwhile, newly appointed Team Director Ravi Shastri is set to join the team for the warm-up one-day match against Middlesex on Friday. Shastri will be overseeing all the affairs of the Indian One-Day International (ODI) side. He will be joined by Sanjay Bangar, Bharat Arun as assistant coaches and R Sridhar as fielding coach.
