Glenn McGrath (former Australia fast bowling great) and his wife Sara McGrath have welcomed a new child to their family— a baby girl. They have named the child Madison Mary Harper. She was born today in the afternoon in Sydney. According to the family both mother (Sara McGrath) and child are healthy. The delivery was premature but without any medical complications. Glenn had revealed three months back that “Sara is pregnant and she is expecting a baby in a few months.” It has been five years since the duo tied the nuptial knot. Sara has two step-children, teenagers— James (15-year old) and Holly (13-year old). McGrath’s previous wife Jane died battling breast cancer seven years back. Fast bowler Ryan Harris congratulated Glenn and Sara on twitter:-
“Huge congrats to @glennmcgrath11 @saramcgrath11 on their new addition”

McGrath was quoted by Australian Women’s magazine saying, “We are adding to our family and we couldn’t be more delighted. The kids are really excited. James used to ask us on a regular basis whether we were going to give him a baby brother. To see both their faces when they learned the news. James jumped up and gave both of us a hug and kiss. And that was really special for me and I know it meant a lot to Sara.”
McGrath added he had contemplated not to have a child since he had undergone vasectomy (a surgical procedure for male sterilization and/or permanent contraception); however the cricketer and his wife were able to conceive through IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation is the process of fertilization by manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish, and then transferring the embryo to the uterus).
