Mitchell Starc bowled an unplayable delivery to dismiss James Vince, that is being referred to as ‘Ball of the Ashes’. Starc came round the wicket, pitched the ball on a wide crack in-line with middle stump, that deviated and hit the off-stump.

In an interview with ESPNcricinfo Graeme Swann admitted that Starc’s delivery is the best he has witnessed in Tests. He also added people who don’t believe it probably don’t know about cricket.

“People who are saying it’s an exaggeration do not know the game of cricket. That is the ball live I have ever seen in Test cricket,” he said.

He also compared the delivery with the ‘Ball of the Century’ bowled by Shane Warne in 1993.

“People are saying it’s not because it hit a crack, Shane Warne’s ball of the century landed in a foot hole.”

He later added that Starc’s delivery would even dismissed legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Don Bradman and Steven Smith out a 1,000 times.

“Get some perspective. That ball is getting Sachin Tendulkar out 1000 times out of 1000. It’s getting Sir Don Bradman out 1000 times out of 1000. Steve Smith. 1000 out of 1000. It is unplayable,” he concluded.

Swann also expressed his disappointment with Cook and Root. He admitted he is not happy with Root taking over Test captaincy.

“I said all along before I didn’t want him to be made captain. He is our best player. Potentially the best player we will ever have and burdening him with captaincy I think it dilutes the whole team on the whole,” he said.
