Former Zimbabwe all-rounder Guy Whittall got a shock of his life when he woke up on Tuesday morning only to find an eight-foot crocodile under his bed.
The crocodile, that weighed 150 kg, entered the Humani Lodge, Zimbabwe and spent the entire night beneath the bed of 40-year-old Whittall. He failed to notice it till the morning. His housemaid screamed in the morning looking at the crocodile, that’s when Whittall, a director at Humani, came to know about the unexpected guest.
“The really disconcerting thing about the whole episode is the fact that I was sitting on the edge of the bed that morning, bare foot and just centimetres away from the croc,” Whittall told dailystar.co.uk.
Whittall said that the crocodiles are experts in hiding and they know how to keep quiet and go unnoticed. He also told in jest that the crocodile liked it under the bed because it was warm.
Whittall’s co-workers removed the crocodile from under the bed, but not before it resisted. Whittall said: “The most important thing is to get its snout roped and secured and then it’s just a matter of restraining it and covering its eyes, to calm it down.
