In Match 13 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2016, Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) have been set a target of 139 by St. Lucia Zouks (SLZ). Winning the toss, Martin Guptill-led GAW asked SLZ to come into bat and got off to a great start with the ball. Sohail Tanvir made early inroads into the visiting team’s batting line-up and applied pressure on the opposition from the very beginning. Adam Zampa also joined the party who has had a terrific last few months with the ball for both his national side and other teams in franchise cricket. Steve Jacobs also ended up taking 2 scalps for his side. Micheal Hussey repaired the SLZ innings with a timely and well constructed fifty to his name. He was supported by David Miller and captain, Darren Sammy who got to starts. The pitch has been on the slower side which caused problems for the batters and as a result SLZ managed to post a moderate total, albeit a lot of hard work. The problem with SLZ innings was that they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and no one scored freely for them, except Hussey. Both the teams are coming off from defeats from their last encounters. Nonetheless, GAW are still sitting on top of the group tables as they won their first four matches but lost the last one. On the other hand, St. Lucia are at the bottom of the table with one win and one loss in two matches. This is a chance for them to climb up the points table before it gets too late.
