Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has launched his own range of sports apparel, named ‘Bhajji Sports’. The company is presently sponsoring the Punjab team in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2013-14 season.

“I like wearing good clothes. Some of my friends who are into making clothes told me since I was already playing with my own brand of bat sticker, I should make a foray in fashion,” Harbhajan was quoted as saying by NDTV.

“The idea has worked very well. Today you demand what you want; Bhajji Sports will provide it,” he added.

Harbhajan plans to extend his business into other sports. “Not just cricket, we are doing clothing for football, hockey etc. It’s basic stuff but good designing is what I am looking to do,” he said.

Out-of-favour Harbhajan, who last played for India in the second Test match against Australia in March 2013, has been quite active off the field with donning multiple hats.

Harbhajan made an appearance as an inspector in a Punjabi movie, and has sung a song as well.

The 33-year-old had announced in April this year that he would turn to producing movies, having plans to rope in some of the biggest Bollywood stars for Punjabi movies.

Talking about Harbhajan’s sport apparel company, his Punjab teammate and Indian cricketer Rahul Sharma said, “I am glad that Bhajji pa came up with this clothes line. When a player, who is a part of the system does it, they know exactly what to do. He knows our requirements very well and has worked things accordingly.”
