Ahead of the main draw of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017India play two warm-up games. The first of the two matches will be played against New Zealand on Sunday. Prior to the match, the Indian cricket team were sweating it out in the nets. Nonetheless, a key player was missing out from the practice sessions. The 35-year-old all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh, opted out due to fever. However, the team management remains confident that Yuvraj will be available and fit to play in no time. India’s second warm-up encounter is scheduled versus Bangladesh, whereas they open their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan. According to Mumbai Mirror, Yuvraj missed out the team’s practice session, which spanned over two hours, as a precautionary measure. The swashbuckling left-hander is coming off a hectic Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 edition wherein his franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were kicked off in the eliminator. Yuvraj was not a consistent member of the side due to injuries and will like to be in good shape ahead of India’s title defence.

Yuvraj made a comeback into the national side after a long gap in India’s home series versus England in early 2017. He registered his highest ODI score, 150 in the second ODI, and helped the side in conquering the series 2-1. The conditions in England will test Yuvraj, but he has a knack of stepping up in major ICC events.
