The competition, launched by Tui brewery, would see the catchers being added to a prize pool where they could share up to one million dollars. The minimum guaranteed prize pool is 250,000 million dollars and it would grow if New Zealand advance in the tournament. If the Brendon McCullum-led side advances to the quarterfinals, the prize pool would be 350,000 million dollars and a semifinal berth would raise the prize money to 500,000 million dollars.
