Cuttack: Feb 1, 2013
Sadia Yousuf (3/30), Asmavia Iqbal (2/36) and Sumaiya Siddiqi (1/27) shared six wickets among them as Pakistan dismissed title contenders Australia for 175 in 46.1 overs after they decided to bat first.
However, despite the lose, Pakistan bowlers earned praise from both the teams.
Sana Mir, however, blamed the batters saying “It was more of a bad shot selection by all of them.”
“We bowled and fielded exceptionally well today to restrict Australia to 175 and, I think we should have chased the score,” Mir said at the post match press conference.
Though her team won the match by 91 runs against Pakistan, Australia captain Judie M Fields realised the need of more runs.
Judie said, “Every match is different and every pitch is a different turf.”
She, however, said his team will take necessary steps for improvement ahead of their matches against South Africa and New Zealand.
