Pakistan qualified for the ICC World T20 2012 semi-finals on the basis of Net Run Rate (NRR), after India failed to keep South Africa below 121 in their Super Eights match at the R Premadasa Stadium on Tuesday.
India need to restrict South Africa to 121 to qualify for semi-finals after scoring 152 runs for the loss of six wickets in the crucial encounter of Super Eights of World T20 at Colombo on Tuesday.
The African side crossed the 121-run mark in the 17th over to crush India’s hopes and hence putting Pakistan in the semi-final round.
Earlier, Pakistan spinners made life miserable for Australian batsmen as they kept their semi-final hopes alive with a 32-run win in their final Super Eights match of the ICC World Twenty20, but that could not prevent the Aussies from reaching the last-four stage.
