India have taken firm control of their ICC World T20 2014 encounter against Australia at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. They have taken five wickets inside the first nine overs as Australia are chasing 160 on a surface that is helping the slower bowlers.
David Warner is the latest man to be dismissed as he tried to hit Ravichandran Ashwin over the top, but Rohit Sharma took a brilliant catch diving forward at deep mid-wicket. Glenn Maxwell has taken the attack though. When Suresh Raina came on to bowl the seventh over, he was first swept for a four and then a massive six behind square.
But the shot that stood out came off Ravindra Jadeja as he was carted into the stands on the leg-side. Maxwell will be kicking himself for the way he departed with a one legged reverse sweep and the ball went on to hit the stumps. After nine overs, Australia are 56 for five.
