Sri Lanka Twenty20 International (T20I) skipper Lasith Malinga, along with One-Day International (ODI) skipper Angelo Mathews were on Thursday included in the 15-member squad of Sri Lanka for the upcoming ICC World T20 2016 to be held in March at India. Both the players had suffered a back injury and were doubtful for the upcoming mega-event, as well as the Asia Cup T20 2016, to be held prior to the World T20 in Bangladesh in February. Apart from these two players, Left-arm spinner Rangana Herath, along with seamer Nuwan Kulasekara also made it to the squad. However, fast-bowler Kasun Rajitha, who shocked India in the opening T20I in the just concluded three-match series with his lethal bowling, missed out on a spot in the squad.

Earlier, India‘s star all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was the cynosure of all eyes when the ICC World T20 Trophy reached the capital as part of the tournament’s host city tour on Thursday. On the occasion, the International Cricket Council (ICC) in partnership with UNICEF and BCCI launched the Team Swachh clinics. This is aimed at promoting a nationwide initiative to build a social movement for sanitation and toilet leading to an open-defecation-free India, reported PTI.
