India restricted England  to 159 after opting to bowl in the first T20I at Old Trafford, Manchester. Kuldeep Yadav  became the first Chinaman bowler to take a 5-wicket haul in T20Is. He ended with 4-0-24-5. KL Rahul then set up the chase with his second T20I century. Rahul and Rohit Sharma added 123 for the second wicket to ensure the win. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli became the first Indian to complete 2,000 T20I runs. India won comfortably by 8 wickets and 10 balls to spare.
