Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) took on Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the Match 8 of Vivo IPL 2018 in their backyard at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. KL Rahul carries his form from his previous game and got Punjab to a flyer. The visitors were scoring 10 per over till the end of third over. Umesh Yadav created problems with his extra pace. He got the wickets of Mayank Agarwal, dismissed Aaron Finch for a golden duck and clean bowled Yuvraj Singh. RCB did well to pull things from there. Ravichandran Ashwin  fought hard for his 33 in the end but KXIP were all out for 155 in the last over.

RCB lost Brendon McCullum in the first over itself for a golden duck. Virat Kohli was looking good in the middle but was done by Mujeeb Zadran in the fifth over. Ab de Villiers and Quinton de Kock stitched a partnership of 54 runs for the fourth wicket. It was Ashwin in the 12th over when he got wickets on successive deliveries dismissing de Kock and Sarfaraz Khan. De Villiers played an responsible knock of 57 and ensured a win for the home side.
