India and Australia broke the record of most number of sixes in a match as they smashed 38 hits beyond the boundary ropes during the seventh One-Day Internationals (ODI) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium at Bangalore on Saturday.
The previous record was created when India and New Zealand together smashed a combined total of 31 sixes at Christchurch in 2009.
The highlight of Saturday’s match was Rohit Sharma’s double century, which included 16 sixes.
During the course of the match, Glenn Maxwell also equaled Simon O’Donnell’s record of fastest half-century by an Australian in ODIs.
Meanwhile, James Faulkner recorded the fastest century by an Australian in ODIs.
